LEGISLATION: Voting Records and Voting Ratings, 1981-2000

Dates

  • 1981-2000

Scope and Contents

Summary: Voting Ratings are ratings or scorecards tracking Congress's and individual Congress members' records of support for various issues. Some of the Voting Ratings files are reports created just for Lautenberg, while others show a group's approval ratings for all members of Congress. Voting Records include both reports for Lautenberg and for the entire Senate (e.g., 101st Congress, 2nd Session). Documents within the Voting Records files may be called Vote Records, Roll Call Votes, Congress/Session Votes, or Record of Votes. "Voting Records" unifies these official "Record of Votes" documents compiled by the Senate Democratic Policy Committee (DPC) or Democratic Policy and Communications Committee (DPCC).
