Scope and Contents

Summary: This series consists mainly of letters that Tamara sent home to her family during her travels around the United States.

The letters of Boris Drasin deal mainly with his involvement in the operation, successes, and failure of the cooperative factory at Jersey Homesteads. There is also a letter from the former President of the International Ladies' Garment Workers Union, David Dubinsky, indicating his approval of opening a cooperative factory in Jersey Homesteads. Other letters include Drasin's application to live and work in Jersey Homesteads and the job and salary that he was assigned.

Lee Drasin's correspondence includes a letter and children's book from his cousin in Russia. Additionally, there are letters regarding a proposed article about Tamara that was later written by former Roosevelt historian Peter Warren.

In addition, this series contains letters sent to and from Benjamin Brown, President, Jersey Homesteads, Inc., describing the creation of Jersey Homesteads and the necessary steps Brown took to ensure that this ideal became a reality.
