Scope and Contents

Summary: Documents and letters created by people other than Isaac Field. The letters pertain to the following subjects: a) Insurance policies held by Thomas S. Field, b) Business activities of the merchant trade, c) A child' s account of her daily activities, and d) Isaac W. Field's perspectives on his life in California and national politics. The relationship of the documents and Isaac Field are unknown. Included in these documents are a broadside catalog of wines, a deed between Caleb Newbold and Aaron Pitman, a map of roads and the waterfront in Fieldsborough, and receipts of C. Newbold.

Among one of the letters written by Isaac W. Field is documentation that his father, Isaac Field, died in New York. Another letter written by Isaac W. Field exhibits a brief glimpse into his attitudes toward ethnicity and politics in mid-nineteenth century America.
