BIOGRAPHICAL FILE, 1942 and 1961-1992

Summary: This series contains information that chiefly concerns the personal aspects of James West. Included are his 1992 four page autobiography (resume), materials documenting a Testimonial Dinner given in his honor in 1978 by his Communist Party friends, interviews given to the press, press clippings on some of his activities and other related materials. It appears that he was also asked to give interviews on various non biographical topics to the media in Socialist countries for which he typed out his responses in advance. Theses are also included here. Documents in languages other than English have been separated into their own folder.
