TRADER'S PRESS, JACK R. LEVIEN

Scope and Contents

Trader’s Press and Jack R. Levien are both imprints used by Jack R. Levien. Trader’s Press was his imprint from 1967 to 1969 when publishing miniature books in New York, while from 1970 to 1972 Levin published under his own name after moving to Holland. When in New York, Levien focused on book design, but contracted separately with others to do the printing and binding. While in Holland, Levien wrote and illustrated most of the books himself, then had them printed offset by a local printing firm. Levien bound many of these books and also employed neighbors to do some of the binding for him. (Bradbury 127)
