Summary:This series is three cubic feet of largely undated material containing examples and instructions for a wide range of book art, fiber, papermaking, printing and textile techniques used by Suellen Glashausser in her work as an artist and teacher. Examples include a variety of book bindings, braids, crochet, folded paper, handmade paper, and origami. Instructions are for specific techniques or equipment and include book folds and binding, handmade paper, origami and papermaking equipment. A number of projects using specific materials or techniques are also included. Instructions for bookmaking, fiber, textile and weaving are located throughout the series, listed under the specific techniques or types of handmade books. Papermaking Instructions are listed sequentially by the broad aspect of papermaking that is in each folder.
Material is arranged alphabetically. Many examples of handmade paper, origami, and other items that required custom housing are included in the alphabetical listing, but are housed separately in Box 15.
