Arrangement

The bulk of the series consists of the survey responses, with any retained envelopes at the end of the series. There is no order within the responses and envelopes.

Appraisal and Discard Information

All survey responses were retained. HAW's office separated the bulk of the responses from the envelopes in which they were received, but retained the envelopes. The bulk of these envelopes, amounting to approximately 2 cubic feet, was discarded by the archivist; only those from identifiable institutions were retained in the series. Envelopes with return addresses of individuals were discarded, but the originating town names from the return address were recorded by the processing archivist with results summarized in an Archivist Note placed with the series. Responses with envelopes attached were retained as found.
