Arrangement

Clippings is arranged in three sets, from that found in the most organized files to the least organized. Each set is arranged roughly in chronological order. Chronological Clippings were found in a series of binders and folders obtained from HAW's office in 1982, covering February 1981 - March 1982. A second set of clippings comes from originally-labeled, though otherwise scattered, folders. Clippings found unlabeled or unfoldered were collected as Miscellaneous.

Appraisal and Discard Information

Clippings were found throughout the accessioned material. Most were the original newsprint clips, although there were some photocopied clippings, as well as originals glued to sheets of paper. Photocopied clippings were kept. Original newsprint clippings from major newspapers were discarded, however the discarded items (newspaper name and dates) were recorded by the processing archivist and the list included in the collection at the beginning of the sub-series. Newsprint clippings from local or more obscure presses were photocopied and kept. There were several folders of clippings that are also found on microfilm in the collection; the physical copies were discarded.
