LEGISLATION FILES Series Overview,, 1959-1982.

LEGISLATION FILES includes materials related to proposed legislation, Senate or joint resolutions, and letters to government officials co-signed by senators. The bulk of the series relates to legislation introduced or co-sponsored (or letters co-signed) by HAW, but there are also many files related to "bills of interest" (i.e., bills that HAW did not sponsor). Although there are many working files in the series containing draft bills, correspondence, staff notes, etc., the bulk of LEGISLATION FILES is comprised mostly of reference or contextual documents, including bill prints, Committee Reports, "Dear Colleague" letters, Congressional Record pages, and the like.
