 Sub-Series

Sub-Series IV: Administrative and Public Relations Correspondence,, 1977-1981.

Dates

  • 1977-1981.

Scope and Contents

At some point in mid-1977, HAW's office implemented the Correspondence Management System (CMS), ending the Subject Correspondence files and use of that term. Subject correspondence was categorized in CMS into at least two "type" codes: Administrative (type 80) and Public Relations (type 45). In addition, it appears that much, perhaps all, of the Personal Correspondence was ended as a separate file structure and included within these two CMS types. Administrative and Public Relations Correspondence includes the correspondence from the files for CMS codes 45 and 80. Please see Appendix B for a description of CMS, its correspondence coding structure, and other considerations integral to understanding the references in this description to CMS correspondence.

As with the prior sub-series, political affairs, courtesies, and various other matters comprise the substance of the material. Among the significant correspondents in Administrative and Public Relations Correspondence are President Jimmy Carter, Norman Vincent Peale, and Anita Bryant Green.
