Related Series

The correspondence series, particularly LEGISLATIVE/ISSUES CORRESPONDENCE, GENERAL, ADMINISTRATIVE, & PUBLIC RELATIONS CORRESPONDENCE, and CENTRAL CORRESPONDENCE, include routine constituent requests of the same types found in the Requests sub-series. Often these requests were filed with other correspondence on specific legislative or other topics; the requests were not weeded out in these instances during processing. Folders within these series consisting only of requests were retained on the same basis as the Requests sub-series.

Appraisal and Discard Information

Approximately 4 cubic feet of routine constituent requests were included among the casework files. These included requests for academy nominations, flags, Congressional Records, copies of legislation, White House anniversary acknowledgements, HAW autographs, etc. All were discarded, except for a few representative samples.
