Estate Papers
Scope and Contents
Summary: The four items contained in this series include a bill for work done on prope1ty in Moonachie, New Jersey in 1837; 1846 taxes on property located in Lodi, New Jersey; a bill dated 1853; and a testament from Jacob Outwater and his wife Annsenetta that they did receive the legacy granted them by Jacob Outwater's will. Curiously, the latter two documents produce some confusion. Jacob's date of death is listed is listed variously as having been in 1852, and 1862. Whether the 1853 bill belongs to another Jacob Outwater, or was merely late in arriving is uncertain.
Regarding the statement testament on the part of Jacob and Annsenetta, confusion arises due to the fact that Jacob was married to Elizabeth Brinckerhoff. Elizabeth, however, died in 1832, and so Annsenetta may have been a second wife.
