Seven letters. Two letters are from James H. Blackwell regarding real estate- the old post office and someone taking the room above it. There is also much business and political discussion: capital, business, boundaries and politics (Van Buren nomination in Senate…Clay most promising candidate for presidency…patriotism). One letter mentions the building of railroad in New Jersey and that it will go through High Bridge.

Three letters are from John F. Staples regarding weather, health, business, mutual friends and personal issues such as living situations with friends, business notes and money owed. It appears that he was employed by Oliver and thanks him.

There is one letter from John H. Anderson regarding transportation.

One letter is addressed to Messrs. B. Thorne & Co regarding business.
