Scope and Contents

Summary: Fifteen log books documenting the construction of Jersey Homesteads.

The ten construction log books (1936-1937) record the daily activities involved in building the garment factory, houses, school and slab factory. Includes charts and drawings. Describes the construction of both the interior and exterior of each structure as well as the painting, electrical work, plumbing, and flooring. The four sewage system and water line field books (1935-1936) concern the building, layout, road grading and specifications of the sewage treatment and water distribution plants. This series also includes a surveyor's notebook (1939) which records measurements for laying curbs and gutters.
