Scope and Contents

Summary:Records of the Roosevelt Board of Health, generated by and/or directed to the Health Officer, who was also the Borough Clerk.

Series contains correspondence, memoranda, bulletins, notices, reports, and guidelines, many of which were sent out by the New Jersey Department of Health and other agencies; and notices and memoranda to the community from the Health Officer. Also includes annual reports (1959-1961), brochures, newsletters, broadsides, newspaper clippings, and pamphlets.

Topics include immunization, venereal disease, mosquito control, dental health and video display terminal safety. The state required migrant workers, a number of whom worked in Roosevelt, to carry certification that they had been immunized against venereal disease.
