HOUSING COMMITTEE FILES, 1937-1947 (bulk 1943-1947)

Summary: Files of the borough committee which negotiated with the federal government over the sale of houses to borough residents.

This series contains general correspondence, mayor/chairman correspondence, appraisal documentation, reports, broadsides and notices, loan documentation, resident and home lists, documents, memoranda and draft proposals regarding the sale of homes. The first folder in this series was originally a bound reference packet documenting the sale of homes at Roosevelt from 1943-1947. The correspondence and memoranda within have been kept in the order it was arranged; some of documents are duplicated elsewhere in the Housing Committee folders while some are unique.
