Dates

  • 1943-1944

Scope and Contents

Summary: Documentation of literature and inventories dispensed by the US Navy to sailors in combat zones and merchant ships. These include both instructions for performing duties, rules and regulations, and inventories of both men and supplies onboard. Some documents are letters, though most are merely postings and fliers.

One interesting document gives instructions on survival after one's ship goes down. Others include a paint locker inventory, officers' dress list for crossing the equator, how to prepare a LCT (5) for launching, and brig watch instructions.
