JOURNAL ENTRIES, 1943-1945

Dates

  • 1943-1945

Scope and Contents

Summary: Document Adler's 1943 and 1945 assignments in the Middle East and South Pacific. The 1943 entries are brief and written on torn out notebook pages. The 1945 journal is intact, and includes journal entries as well as addresses.

Descriptions of locations include Cuba, Panama, New Zealand, Australia, Iran and the Tigris River, South Africa, and Brazil. Adler also discusses several bouts of illness, poor food and water supplies onboard, and an interesting tale of being arrested by MP's for being drunk on liberty.

The 1945 journal was possibly written in a single sitting near the close, or following the end of, the war.
