HISTORY - AUDIO TAPE

Scope and Contents

Summary: An audio tape was made for the Centennial celebration of the AAUW in 1981. It chronicles events by decades, from its organization as the American Collegiate Alumnae in Boston, led by Marion Talbot. Concerns such as equal pay for equal work appeared as early as 1907. In 1921, the AAUW was formed with the merger of the ACA and the Southern Association of College Women. As local organizations expanded, which we have seen from the activities of the RVB, there was a corresponding sense of loss at the national level, and new groups were eventually formed at that level.
