HISTORY

Summary: Preserved are two copies of the booklet, "A Short History of the New Jersey State Division of the American Association of University Women, 1927 - 1952." This documents twenty-five years of the state division, and events are chronicled by two-year terms of the state President, thus 1927-1929, 1929-1931, 1931-1933, etc., with the last from 1950-1952. The booklet is preserved as well with the New Jersey Records of the AAUW.

One copy of the booklet, "The First Fifty Years. New Jersey State Division. American Association of University Women," continues with the two-year sequence employed for the earlier history. The accounts are generally shortened to a one-page format, eliminating budget figures and meeting announcements. Additional reports are included from Areas of Interest Groups and Committees. A last section includes reports from each branch, with the history of the RVB prepared in 1977 appearing on page 48 (See above under RVB History). This booklet is also preserved with the New Jersey Records of the AAUW.
