SCRAPBOOKS

Summary: Four large scrapbooks were painstakingly kept from 1957 through 1988, with news clippings, programs, certificates, and often the Newsletters pasted or stapled. These volumes provide a rare glimpse into the very active life of the RVB, as well as news about individual members' activities, largely in support of higher education for all women.

Scrapbook 1 from 1957 to 1961 includes the bylaws in front, followed by the typed history from 1958 prepared for the 75th anniversary of the AAUW. This scrapbook has news clippings pasted on the left facing page, and the Newsletter stapled on the right.

Scrapbooks 2-4 from 1961 to 1988 no longer include the Newsletters, continue to paste news clippings and feature articles highlighting some of the members. Photographs of RVB members' musical activities appear as well as members with their book sales and teaching.
