CORRESPONDENCE

Scope and Contents

Summary: The correspondence files consist primarily of letters to and from both the Branch President and the Corresponding Secretary. There is an uneven sequence dating from some years more than others.

The letters highlight important activities supported by the Branch, in addition to such regular concerns as meetings with high school girls to promote college education and raising funds for scholarships. Events that are well documented are those in support education such as the Burlington County Community College (1965-1967), the Burlington County Community Action Program (1967), the International Federation of University Women Conference in Philadelphia (1971), the AAUW Educational Foundation (1975-1976). In addition, activities on behalf of the ERA and Affirmative Action (1978), Juvenile Curfew Laws (1982), and the McGuire Air Force Base (1986) are also documented.
