Scope and Contents

Summary:Audio and video of interviews with residents, video recordings of Roosevelt television programming, as well as documentaries.

Includes audio cassette tapes, audio reels, film reels, beta tapes, VHS tapes, and DVDs.

The audio cassettes and audio reels contain interviews with Roosevelt residents as part of the Oral History Comittee efforts to document Roosevelt history. For transcripts of the interviews, please see ROOSEVELT ORAL HISTORY COMMITTEE FILES. Box 23 contains films reels of artist Stefan Martin. Some of the reels are marked by the 'tail' or end scene of the reel.

This series also includes VHS tape interviews with artist Bernarda Bryson Shahn, as well as miscellaneous Roosevelt television programming.

The series also contains 2 DVDs that contain documentaries from 2009 and 2010 about the founding and architectural influences of the Borough of Roosevelt.

Of special interest are the reel to reel tapes of interviews and archival footage of Roosevelt used in Robert Kroehling's Visions of Utopia. The documentary premiered on October 22, 1983, and later aired on PBS. Please see ROBERT KROEHLING PAPERS for more information.

Arrangement: Grouped by material type: film reels, casette tapes, reel to reel tapes, beta tapes, and VHS tapes. Audio cassettes are arranged alphabetically by interviewees last name; while VHS tapes, film reels, beta, and reel to reel are arranged chronologically.
