MINUTES, 1940-2003

Summary: Meeting minutes of the Executive, Steering, and Delegate Council, General Assembly, and the Annual State Business meetings. Before 1977, there were three types of meetings: Executive Council, Sectional and Annual State Business Meetings. After 1977, there were additional meetings of the Steering Council, Delegate Council and General Assembly.

The series consists mostly of minutes. Interfiled documents include treasurer's reports (if they were attached to the minutes), other officer reports, committee reports, agendas, correspondence about meetings, and meeting announcements.

Of particular interest are the organizational minutes (Feb. 8, 1940); the discussion of art and war in the State Business meeting (December 5, 1942); and the first use of the Art Educators of New Jersey organization name and new constitution (October 9, 1971).
