Scope and Contents
Summary: Reports by the president which chronicle the State Division's activities during the organizational year, together with related forms, outlines and correspondence. Beginning at least as early as 1929, the president was required to file this report (since 1950 due by June 1st) with both the regional and national headquarters, although apparently not all presidents retained a copy, as several are missing. Until 1952 the reports were written in an informal style. In 1953 the national headquarters issued an outline, standardizing the format, which asked for information such as the State Division's program, organizational data (membership statistics, workshop programs and policies) and administrative data (membership fees, budgets and a list of non-AAUW meetings in which the State Division participated). By the 1960s, the reports had changed to a questionnaire format, but reverted back to a response to an outline of suggestions by 1968.
