Scope and Contents

Arrangement: Bulk arranged chronologically in one sequence; oversized prints filed chronologically in a second sequence; remainder unarranged.

Summary: Black and white photoprints (and a few in color) reflecting all facets of Clifford Case's career as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives 1947-1953) and of the U.S. Senate (1955-1978). Subjects include visits of constituents to the Congressman's office, Republican political conventions, official and personal trips, and U.S. Presidents and world leaders posing with the Senator. Most of the photographs bear captions identifying the date, occasion, and persons included.

The bulk of the photographs is indexed by a card file included at the end of the series. This alphabetical index provides access either directly, by personal name, or indirectly, by category of individual (and thereunder by personal name) or by type of group (and thereunder by organizational name). A chronological list of the photographs for 1968-1978 accompanies the index.

Among the photographs included in this series are several different formal and informal portraits of the Senator.
