Scope and Contents: Lubell 10/4: 137 Watercolor (with graphite pencil and ink) of two rural children, playing while a black cat stretches behind them. Compared to other watercolor pieces of this time period, the actual use of color is understated: the colors are not used as extensively and are much more washed out. Watercolor (with ink) of multiple children playing on a playground. There are few outlines or line details, most of which are in red, black, and possibly white ink. Painted on heavy board. Lubell 138-146 are of similar subjects and dates, with the medium for some focusing more on watercolor and others more on line drawings in pen or graphite pencil.

Scope and Contents: Lubell 10/4: 142 Gouache on board of a visually unclear scene, which appears to be a group of children working on snowmen in the clearing of a large forest. Large swaths of dark blue and grey for the sky (along with use on the right and bottom side, making it something of a 3-sided border) create a sense of claustrophobia. Interestingly, there seems to be no ink actually used in this piece; details from the gouache are still there, such as the glimpses of light brown trees...
