Scope and Contents: Lubell 8/3: 281a-i Seven black and white woodblock prints of four stylized female figures surrounding a bird with an [internal] egg. Some of the prints show the egg to be containing a partially-formed fetal bird (Lubell 281c and 281d). 281c and 281d show much less white than the others and are labelled “Proof 1.” 281c also has brown coloring on and around the egg. 281e is labelled “Proof 2 B” and has white gouache covering unwanted lines, primarily on the bird and egg, but also...
