Scope and Contents: Lubell 2/1: 4 Ink drawing of a thistle branch, surrounded by two fern branches; the two plant types are additionally separated by form. Red ink is used for the thistle, with soft lines that seem to recede into the background (the plant’s details consist largely of the bud and leaves). The ferns, meanwhile, use black ink to make sharper and more detailed leaves. Individual short line and dot patterns mark all of the leaves, and ticks and pieces can be found throughout the branch....

Ink drawing of a hyacinth, with multiple stems and flowers spilling from an unseen bulb. No color is used to differentiate flowers or punctuate the image, but a myriad of crossed line patterns are found all over the plant. Interestingly, each of the flowers is distinctly positioned, with many of the right side plants starting to wilt. On verso can be found an apparently unfinished drawing of the same subject.

Scope and Contents: Lubell 2/1: 9 An extremely abstract, almost totally non-figural drawing in pastel and wash of what appear to be very stylized dead trees in a field, with a blue tree and a nondescript white cloud in the background. Details are both sparse and fairly confusing; the piece looks more like an extremely stylistic interpretation of a more concrete place. Color is limited to greens, brown, blue, and white.
